As part of our mission to foster reverence for Earth’s multifaceted offerings, Bio Alchemy Olfactive is committed to practicing ecological and humanitarian responsibility in everything that we do. When sourcing products and botanicals around the world, Bio Alchemy Olfactive prioritizes ethical fair trade and equitable exchange with the indigenous communities who create and steward these natural treasures. By doing our part to stimulate value chains and create new opportunities for these populations, we help to build an even more sustainable aromatic project.

Benefiting communities
Bio Alchemy Olfactive empowers communities and artisans alike by sharing profits, partnering with NGOs, and supporting local economic initiatives. As an example of this work, we are investing one hundred percent of profits from the sale of all large Palo Santo Specimens back into the community in Piura, Peru that harvests and carves them. Proceeds will support the purchase and installation of a distillery in Piura which will empower our local partners as alchemists, allowing them to extract essential oil from their residual palo santo shavings and generate additional income for their families.
Local distillers with whom we collaborate are key to our efforts to positively impact communities. Charitable initiatives undertaken by these partners are underway in Egypt, Madagascar, Peru, Australia, France, Morocco, Oman and other locations around the world where we source botanicals. Distillers give back to local populations by strengthening healthcare infrastructure, working with local NGOs on clean water initiatives, and providing homes, employment, and education for communities and refugee families.

Xapiri Ground
One of our primary partners in the Amazon is Xapiri Ground, a non-profit organization dedicated to grassroots work with the indigenous people of the rainforest. Xapiri believes that economic sustainability is fundamental for the autonomy of rainforest communities and the protection of their ancestral territories. Xapiri supports economic sustainability by stimulating the value chains within each culture’s traditional praxis and customs, prioritizing ethical fair trade with artisans to promote autonomy and self-sufficiency. All items sourced by Xapiri bear the unique fingerprint of each community’s artistic expression, with funds paid to the artisans before the items reach Bio Alchemy Olfactive’s shop. Xapiri also conducts outreach and encourages skill sharing among indigenous youth, upholding the socio-cultural value of ancestral art for present and future generations. Through photographic and video documentation of these communities, Xapiri seeks to raise awareness about the impotence of the amazon rainforest by giving voice to indigenous peoples and inspiring cultural pride.
